दितिः तु अजनयत् पुत्रान् दैत्याम् तात यशस्विनः || ३-१४-१५ तेषाम् इयम् वसुमती पुरा आसीत् स वन अर्णवा |
kraunciim bhaasiim tathaa shyeniim dhR^itaraaShTriim tathaa shukiim || 3-14-17taamraa tu suShuve kanyaaH pa.nca etaa lokavishrutaaH |
Translation
"Oh, boy Rama, Diti gave birth to well-known Daitya-s, the so-called demons, and earlier this earth with forests and oceans belonged to them. [3-14-15b, 16a]
