रताः स्वाध्यायकरणे वयं नित्यं हि भूमिप | निष्क्रयं किंचिदेवेह प्रयच्छतु भवानिति || १-१४-४८
maNi ratnam suvarNam vaa gaavo yad vaa samudyatam | tat prayacCha narashreShTa dharaNyaa na prayojanam || 1-14-49
Translation
"We are always preoccupied with self-study and teaching of scriptures, oh, king, thus you may give us something else in barter, any modest thing. " [1-14-48]
