पार्श्वतः पृष्ठतः च अपि लम्बमानाः तत् उन्मुखाः | बाष्प पूर्ण मुखाः सर्वे तम् ऊचुर् भृश दुह्खिताः || २-४०-२१
samyaccha vaajinaam rashmiin suuta yaahi shanaiH shanaiH | mukham drakShyaami raamasya durdarsham no bhaviShyati || 2-40-22
Translation
Having down towards sides and back of the chariot with their faces turned towards Rama and with their faces filled with tears, all those people said with loud voices to Sumantra thus:
