अथ रात्र्याम् प्रपन्नायाम् कालरात्र्यामिआत्मनः | अर्धरात्रे दशरथह् कौसल्यामिदमब्रवीत् || २-४२-३२
raamam me.anugataa dR^ishhTiradyaapi na nivartate | na tvaam pashyaami kausalye saadhu maam paaNinaa spR^isha || 2-42-33
Translation
Thereupon, the night having fallen, the night resembling the hour of death to him, Dasaratha spoke these words to Kausalya when the midnight struck :
