अपयाते त्वयि तदा समुद्भ्रान्तमृगद्विजम् | प्रविवेशाथ विजनं सुमहद्दण्डकावनम् || ६-१२६-१०

tatkR^itvaa duShkaraM karma bhraatarau raamalakShmaNau | saayaahne sharabha~Ngasya ramyamaashramamIyatuH || 6-126-14

Translation

"When you had gone away, that forest (of Chitrakuta) then assumed a very miserable appearance, with the frightened animals and birds (on seeing strange people there)."
