तिर्यक् च सह नक्षत्रैः सम्गतौ चन्द्रभास्करौ | भास्करांशुभिरादीप्तम् तमसा च समावृतम् || २-२२-८ प्रचकाशे तदाकाशमुल्काशतविदीपितम् | अन्तरिक्षाच्च निर्घाता निर्जग्मुरतुलस्वनाः || २-२२-९

tiryak ca saha nakshatraiH samgatau candrabhaaskarau | bhaaskaraa.nshubhiraadiiptam tamasaa ca samaavR^itam || 2-22-8 pracakaashe tadaakaashamulkaashatavidiipitam | antarikshaachcha nirghaataa nirjagmuratulasvanaaH || 2-22-9

Translation

The moon sun and the stars moved obliquely and though the sun's rays lighted the sky, it was enveloped by darkness and shined with a blaze of hundreds of meteors while thunders reverberated with an unparalleled sound in the sky.
