तां छादयन्तीमाकाशं वृक्षवृष्टिं दुरासदाम् || ६-७६-६७ कुम्भकर्णात्मजः श्रीमांश्चिच्छेद निशितैः शरैः |

sa vidhyamaanaH sahasaa sahamaanashcha taa~nsharaan || 6-76-70 kumbhasya dhanuraakShipya babha~njendradhanuHprabham |

Translation

The illustrious Kumbha, the son of Kumbhakarna, with his sharp arrows, chopped off that down pour of trees, which was obscuring the sky and which was difficult to be assailed.
